iControl Networks at DEMO 2005

iControl Networks  introduces a home control and automation system that is run from a web portal, allowing you to monitor your home or business remotely.

The web interface displays the following  information in a series of modules:
  • Status of the connection
  • Pictures from one or more web cams
  • Alarm History based on sensor inputs
  • Updates to the iControl systems
  • Today's Schedule
  • Reminders
There are three components to the system - sensors arrayed around the house or business, the iControl box, and the iControl portal (accessed through a browser, cell phone, or wireless PDA). The IP-enable iControl bix connects to the iControl portal and begins sending data from sensors -  promising zero configuration.

Real-time notifications per event (e.g. front door opened, window opened, etc.) build an auditable trail of events to document what is transpiring at the tremote location.

iControl installed a camera at the entrance door to the presentation room prior to the opening and showed pictures of attendees wandering in. Chris Shipley quipped, "Don't even try to sneak in here after hours.".
