
Grok showed how their Highwire rapid development tools provide "a thick client user experience with thin client performance", delivering a more desktop-like experience even though the application is delivered via the web. The applications shown in the demo sure did not look like the kind of web apps we've come to expect (and to be honest, dislike). The Highwire apps had the look and feel of desktop applications and should be easier for end-users to work with.








1. Requires software download to view. PC client only. Dont mean to be negative. As a web developer I'm always looking for faster production times, but until they reach have download rates akin to flash, it can mostly be an organizational tool, not web-wide. Perhaps they have something more up their sleeve in the wings ...
